Step 1: Determine Your Visa Type

Step 3: Complete the COVA Form Online

All applications must now be started online via the China Online Visa Application (COVA) portal. Handwritten forms are no longer accepted.

Crucial Tip: The photo requirements are strict. Ensure your digital photo has a pure white background and your ears are visible. Don't wear a white shirt.

Step 4: Biometrics (Fingerprinting)

As of 2025, most applicants aged 14-70 must submit fingerprints in person at the Visa Application Center.

Exemption: If you are eligible for the new "Digital Pilot" program (select US/EU cities), you may be able to skip the in-person interview.

Step 5: Processing Time & Fees

Standard processing takes 4 working days. Express service (2-3 days) is available for an extra fee (~$25 USD).
